Prior to the 2008 Georgia General Assembly convening, there was talk of members working together on key policy issues such as transportation, water, education, healthcare, foreclosures, and tax reform. With the legislative session ending on April 4, 2008, the final product pales in comparison to the good intentions articulated in January. We had an opportunity to pass legislation targeting tax reform, expanding educational opportunities, localizing transportation funding, and improving our environment. Unfortunately, some of those bills were left on the table.

Morgan nominated for prestigious award -
Being elected to serve in the GA House of Representatives and making positive change throughout Georgia communities has gained Rep. Morgan national attention from the Mario Savio Memorial Foundation. Rep. Morgan was quite honored to be selected as one of three finalists from a host of young remarkable leaders around the country. It was a great honor to be nominated for an award names after Mario Savio who spent his life advocating freedom of speech.

Representative Morgan receives 100% on GA NAACP Legislative Report Card -
Rep. Morgan was the keynote speaker at the 64thAnnual GA State Conference NAACP Convention Rosa Parks Secretary's Breakfast on October 12, 2006. The audience was left spellbound with a message that only Alisha Thomas Morgan could deliver in the

uplifting Alisha Morgan kind of way. Also at the GA State Conference NAACP Convention, the organizations state political action committee released its GA State

Legislative Report Card where Rep. Morgan earned a grade 100%
