MARIETTA - As Congress moves to renew the federal No Child Left Behind Act this year, one of the law's original authors is pushing to change some aspects of it that have given Cobb educators heartburn the past few years.

At the state level, state Rep. Alisha Thomas Morgan (D-Austell) brought Cobb teachers and staffers together with Georgia Department of Education staffers in Atlanta Thursday to voice similar concerns about No Child Left Behind.

Ms. Morgan set up the meeting after educators shared with her their frustrations during an Austell forum she held with Cobb principals last month.

"Relationships were formed," Ms. Morgan said. "We are going to see some movement."
